About Solar Eclipse Timer

I created the original "talking timer" in 2001 after witnessing my first total solar eclipse. It was first used for the 2002 total solar eclipse as a tool to make eclipse watching simple, accurate, and unforgettable.

In 2017, it was released as a mobile app version for the eclipse that crossed the U.S. Since then, the app has successfully timed eclipses for people around the world.

It is now being updated for the 2026 eclipse.

This marks 25 years of my efforts to help people accurately time a solar eclipse, no matter where they are observing.
